Barndominiums Built Around Texas Land
Barndominium Builders TX designs and builds barndominiums, metal building homes and shop houses on rural and edge-of-town land across Texas, outside the Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth metros. A barndominium suits owners who already have acreage, or are about to buy it, and want a home that can share a roof with a shop, a barn or a big covered porch.
Texas is too big for one set of assumptions. Limestone with almost no topsoil in the Hill Country, expansive black clay along the I-35 corridor, sandy pine land in East Texas, the coastal windstorm area near Corpus Christi, and high, windy plains with real snow around Amarillo all call for different foundations, framing details and schedules. We start every job with the land, not a catalog.
How we work
- We walk the property first. Building site, drive route, drainage, trees, slope and where a septic field could go.
- We research your county. Whether the county has opted into the state's unincorporated-area residential code, what the septic program requires, flood maps, driveway and culvert rules, and any deed restrictions you give us.
- We price in writing, line by line. Site work, slab, building package, erection, dry-in, insulation, mechanicals and finish-out are listed separately, so you can see where the money goes.
- We plan for condensation and heat. Insulation, vapor control and HVAC sizing are decided before the steel or lumber is ordered.
- We schedule in phases you can follow. Site prep, foundation, shell, dry-in, rough-ins, inspections and finish-out.
